America’s Cheerleaders

The term America’s Cheerleaders, started back in the late 1980’s when Maryland’s Governor William Donald Schaefer during one of our meetings in Annapolis, called us: Maryland’s Cheerleaders, then stated to the room: Maryland’s Cheerleaders are America’s Cheerleaders, thus began a legacy that would stay with us forever.

We were a little ahead of our times back then. We were the very first Professional Promotional cheerleading team in the United States. We were around before All Star cheerleading, before any professional team in Baltimore since the Baltimore Colts left the city.

We had a big hand in bringing “Baltimore the Ball” Back when the state and the city were trying to bring a NFL team back to the city. We were the team that they called upon to do all their appearances around the state and in 1996, the Maryland Stadium Authority called upon us to cheer for the NFL Exhibition game which was held at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore between the Miami Dolphins and the New Orleans Saints.

When we took the field for the game, the announcer proudly announced to a crowd of over 60,000 people;

Ladies and Gentlemen, please direct your attention to the south endzone, the State of Maryland, the Maryland You Are Beautiful program, the Maryland Stadium Authority and the City of Baltimore would like to introduce:

Not only to we call them Maryland’s Cheerleaders but they are hailed as America’s Cheerleaders
